Hi, Natalie! Can you introduce Valley Electronics shortly?
Valley Electronics is a MedTech company that pioneers the area of fertility tracking. We’ve been creating fertility trackers since 1986 in both Switzerland and Germany and are currently distributing our trackers in 40 countries. It’s a family-run company: my father started it and I became part of the company in 2006.
Did you always sell through distributors?
We started out selling directly to consumers in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Later on, when we went to America, we started going to trade fairs to find partners. We found partners in different countries and, of course, we had to set up and share a lot of things: what is needed from a regulatory perspective, the available customer support, images and information on how to sell our product.
It wasn’t easy. We had to send a million emails back and forth and train them in customer-support questions.
When did you find out that it’s hard to sell through distributors?
It started to hurt when we stopped the the direct meet-ups, and we hit a limit because we didn’t have a platform to show everything. We were putting out new content all the time, some used it and some didn’t and some distributing partners were forgotten because there were so many of them. We would change our product language and had to scan everything and ask questions like “is everyone informed?”.
It was super-annoying and messy. We needed a solution and started to use Dropbox. But nobody used the Dropbox and then we had a million links and it was so messy and uncontrolled. People had access, lost access. It was insane.
After that we went from Dropbox to Google Drive and thought “ok, this is a solution”. But it wasn’t. A lot of partners didn’t use the Google Drive, they had issues finding their way through it. Like, in one document there’d be 5 million different links, there’d be product pictures here, a marketing strategy there. And no one wanted to read the messy stuff, right? It would be pages of long information with thousands of links, and we realized that we were mixing up old pictures with new. It was just not ideal. Not at all.

What made you choose SP_CE?
When SP_CE approached us and explained how it works, I thought to myself: this is like a home, I can navigate through it like a website and it’s easy to understand. I didn’t need to be a super-crazy technician. I could send one link to all partners and they could go in whenever they wanted, they could pull the material they needed, chat and contact me directly.
I was sold. It just makes everything better because they don’t always need to ask for things: they go in, they look for what they need, they are inspired and get the information.
