Hi, Chris! Can you tell us a little bit about Firstkind Ltd and the Geko Device?

As Sales Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Firstkind Ltd, I represent a company that developed the Geko device – a single-patient use, battery-operated disposable technology. Our device has three main applications: DVT prevention, edema prevention and treatment, and wound healing.

What obstacles do you experience when going to market with your first product?

Our main challenge is that we’re bringing an innovative technology to market. While we have no competition in the edema and wound care spaces, we face reimbursement challenges since there are no existing categories for our product. We’re addressing this by building clinical data to demonstrate effectiveness. Additionally, we’re creating market-specific reimbursement models, starting with private healthcare systems before expanding to public health systems in the UK, Italy, France, and Spain.
