Industry: CT imaging
Use Case: Content Sharing, ROI-calculation
Effect: An easy, professional way to share assets and monitor usage
Hi, Vinti! Can you tell us a little bit about Curvebeam AI?
Curvebeam AI is a medical-device firm. We develop and manufacture a CT Imaging system made specifically for the orthopedic and musculoskeletal specialties.
Our CT systems serve a clinical need in orthopedics: patients can stand while they’re imaging, which allows orthopedic surgeons to see the bones and joints in a functional or biomechanical position in three dimensions. It’s a unique imaging modality that fills a niche that was not priorly available.

Curvebeam AI has a multichannel strategy for how we go to market. We sell directly and through channel partners and distributors depending on the market or region. We have a presence in North -and South America, in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
How did you come to use SP CE?
Previously we were using a more traditional Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for managing a lot of our collateral and literature, but it didn’t quite fit the need of what we were trying to do: make sure that our internal sales team, as well as channel partners, had the latest material and assets when they were out in the field.
One of our colleagues met the SP_CE team at a conference and brought it back to us. When we took a look at how SP_CE organizes portals for sharing with different audiences, it just made sense to us and was very easy to use.
Putting together, and sharing, the portals didn’t require a lot of technical prowess. Our team was able to learn the system very quickly and could start using it almost right away.

How do you use SP CE?
We use our portals in all kinds of different ways. One of those ways is with our prospects, to share ROIs and sales documentation, and one of those prospects actually converted to a customer. So their portal actually evolved: we started using it to share onboarding material and, in one of the onboarding meetings we had with this customer, the project manager said that “by the way, we love this portal that you’re providing because it puts everything we need in one place and has been wonderful to use”. So, kudos for that.
How was your experience of implementing SP CE?
We were initially using another DAM system and, before we started using SP_CE, I was a little bit worried about the migration. But the SP_CE team helped us with that entire process and I think it wasn’t even 48 hours before they’d taken all the assets from our previous DAM and transferred them to the new platform. They even helped organize how some of the content was stored within folders and whatnot.
With SP_CE, it’s easy to build these sleek interfaces that look very professional, that look quite sleek and sophisticated, and it makes it very easy for our sales -and marketing teams to put these portals together and share them with our prospects and customers.
From a strategic perspective, what value does SP CE bring to your business?
Beyond just sharing assets with our prospects and customers, SP_CE gives us insights into our prospects via the analytics on the backend. We can see when these prospects log into their portals. We can see what assets they’re looking at and for how long. We have an insight into when our prospects might be engaging with us even when they’re not speaking directly to us, and have a better idea of when the right time is to approach them.
It’s also a great tool for when we’re working with our various distributors and channel partners, as it gives us insights as to which reps are logging in and looking at the assets. So it gives us a way to monitor, but also encourage, education as well as product and brand awareness, so that we can be top of mind even with the diverse portfolio that they’re representing.
Why would you recommend SP CE to others?
I would recommend SP_CE because of how intuitive it is to use for your team, how seamless it is to share with prospects and channel partners and the analytics that you get.
There are several options out there for document sharing, but SP_CE allows you to build portals that are sleek and sophisticated and that also has backend tools for digital asset management, to ensure that you have quality -and revision control. All in a platform that’s easy to use and share, that feels fresh and that gives you a level of control in terms of security.
The hierarchy that they allow for in terms of private, restricted or public access, for example, is something we can use on multiple fronts. So, at medical conferences we can share a QR code to a public space and it gives our prospects a way to really connect with our brand without having to carry around a host of broschures. And that really expands the digital story that we’re trying to tell.
The other benefit of SP_CE is that their team has the ability to provide some really high-end custom tools at an approachable price point, and we actually just built a custom ROI calculator with the SP_CE team. It’s quite sophisticated and embedded within our portals. If we were to build a similar ROI calculator with some of the vendors that offer similar services, it would probably be at a price point that would have an extra zero.
The team has also been great to work with. We have a very specific medical devical and when we build our ROIs there’s a lot of inputs. It can be quite complicated, but they were able to handle those complications and help us build a tool that is easy to use, but captures the level of sophistication that needs to be considered when you’re looking at a profit analysis for a product like ours.
